Idiot or Crook?

In New Jersey, the Gubernatorial elections are coming up. I know know this through Meet the Press. Anyway, the Gubernatorial elections in New Jersey are coming up, and the two major candidates are the incumbent, Jon Corzine (D), and the challenger, Chris Christie (R). The campaign has obviously very rough; the campaigns just keep getting more negative by the minute. Lies about one, lies about the other... At the end of the day, though, Corzine is just an idiot and Christie is a crook. I don't know what to do! Who is the New Jersey public supposed to vote for?!? I personally feel sorry for them because they don't know that much about the alternative. Three words: Chris. Daggett. Independent. For decades, New Jersey has depended the two-party system that is just not working. People think that voting for an independent candidate is a wasted vote. It's not! If you get enough people to vote for change and reform that people need in New Jersey, they'll be elected and you'll get the change you need. But if you don't try and spread the word, no one will know. It will be another failed attempt at change and reform. Once again for review: Corzine: Idiot. Christie: Crook. Daggett: Change.

Not Easily Convicted

As you may already know, drunk driving in America has become a very dangerous threat to our citizens. The current usual sentence for drunk driving is a few years in prison, as it is considered manslaughter. Some people, including me, say that this is not manslaughter, but rather murder. The criminal is killing a person (people) when a person dies in the "accident" other that the driver themselves, and they did use improper judgment knowing that they were drunk and were going to drive anyway, (once again) knowing that someone could perish in the process. It is as much murder as someone pulling out a pistol, aiming it at a person five feet away, and deliberately pulling the trigger. One of the only ways that this disgusting act can be stopped is to consider this murder and giving tough sentences. I'm talking 25-to-life-in-prison kind of tough. If people don't fear the consequences, then they won't think twice about driving drunk. This has to be stopped. Drunk drivers: Easily offended, not easily convicted.

Give a Little Love

You know, I've noticed something. Dogs are ALWAYS happy. No matter what you do, they're happy. And they don't require much to be happy, either. If humans could be like that, we'd have world peace. Love can free us from all excess, and dogs seem to have known that for a LONG time. Dogs think everyday is a holiday. They're always living life to the fullest. They don't need money or fancy stuff to be happy. All they need is a little love, and they are in paradise. They are always looking for friends, not enemies. They are the vision of happiness. Plus, they can have any name imaginable and still respond to it! All I'm saying is that if we try to help each other more and just try to love, we might actually achieve what we've been trying to achieve in the last...NO! During the entire existence of the human species.

Does it Really Ever Solve Anything?

My dear friends,  many people ask, "Does war solve anything?"
Many people say, "Well, It has. It got America freedom (American Revolution), ended slavery, gained us Texas, ended Nazism, and a bunch of other stuff."  But the thing is, that is not true.
There is still all of that stuff in the world.
People just don't get it.  All war does is take lives of innocent people who are brain washed to think that if they joined the war they would be "serving their country".  Seriously, do you actually believe the only way the solution can be reached is by killing each other?
I will never understand the human mind.  It's like we enjoy seeing innocent people being killed or, even worse, we JUST DON'T CARE.  Nobody really cares about each other any more.  We all just care about ourselves as if we are the only person on the planet that matters.  I am just so darn sick of it!
This is just simply barbaric and it needs to be stopped.  Support our troops: BRING. THEM. HOME!

Say What?!?

When President Barack Obama was elected, everyone was expecting a miracle. Exactly the next day, the stock market went down a few hundred points.
But I do think that people have doubts in President Obama. Don't bother sitting down because you will stand up (in shock) when you hear this: President Barack Obama will be sending seventeen thousand more troops into Afghanistan. I can understand that. But the War in Iraq was so unnecessary on President Bush's part. It turns out Iraq did NOT have WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction). But I feel bad for President Obama. He received this whole big truckload of dog poo. He has to deal with two wars, a crashing stock market and idiots that think this whole "Non-white" president idea is the worst thing ever. Besides, if you really think about it, this whole present is a gift from none other than George W. Bush ("Well, I think if you say you're going to do something and don't do it, that's trustworthiness." Actual President Bush quote.)
Here's another surprise: when Barack Obama was elected, everyone thought the FIRST day he got into office that he would shut down Guantanamo Bay. But he is almost there. He'd be done by now if it weren't for the Republicans. Now some Republicans saying that Guantanamo Bay isn't as bad as they thought. NOT AS BAD AS THEY THOUGHT?!? Seems like something's going on, but I've never in my life met someone that says, "Oh, I love torture!"
All I'm trying to say is don't expect people to do everything they say they're going to do, because sometimes poeple lie to get what they want (not like Barack Obama did, because he didn't. But you know who did? Three words: George W. Bush.

America

This post is a short one, folks.
As Stephen Colbert once said, "There was once a child who was pushed around by his father.  That child's name was America."

All At Once

For those who have been living under a rock for the past three years, we obviously been in a recession.  Stocks have gone down, and so have home values.  And people have been downsizing the heck out of everything.
Everything is going wrong, everyone ends up alone, and every time President Barack Obama mentions his stimulus package, the stock market seems to go down another three hundred points.
I've been thinking about it, and it seems to me like the C.E.O's of big companies are just taking as much money as they can carry in their deep pockets and running for the hills.  They really don't care what happens to everybody else below them as they party on the 100th penthouse floor, while those beneath them on the 2nd floor are simply trying to keep food on the table, let alone their job, and more importantly, their future.
This is happening all at once.  And as The Fray said in the song All At Once from their first album, How to Save A Life, all at once the crowd begins to say sometimes that hardest thing and the right thing are the same.
