Not Easily Convicted
As you may already know, drunk driving in America has become a very dangerous threat to our citizens. The current usual sentence for drunk driving is a few years in prison, as it is considered manslaughter. Some people, including me, say that this is not manslaughter, but rather murder.
The criminal is killing a person (people) when a person dies in the "accident" other that the driver themselves, and they did use improper judgment knowing that they were drunk and were going to drive anyway, (once again) knowing that someone could perish in the process. It is as much murder as someone pulling out a pistol, aiming it at a person five feet away, and deliberately pulling the trigger.
One of the only ways that this disgusting act can be stopped is to consider this murder and giving tough sentences. I'm talking 25-to-life-in-prison kind of tough. If people don't fear the consequences, then they won't think twice about driving drunk. This has to be stopped. Drunk drivers: Easily offended, not easily convicted.
